  • Energy crunch for UK power in seven years

  • Steve Holliday, chief executive of National Grid told the Times newspaper that Britain could face regular blackouts within seven years if the Government does not intervene to prevent an energy gap that will be created by future power station closures. The warning came after Ofgem, the energy industry regulator, said it was to consider fresh incentives to encourage the development of renewable energy schemes in Britain.
Worried about planning Permission?

Residential - From the 6th April 2008 homeowners will be able to install Solar Panels on their property without the need for planning permission as long as the following is adhered to:-

1) Roof mounted panels must not protude more than 200mm from the roof slope

Solar Hot Water Storage.

Vented Hot Water Tanks

Vented Solar Tank cut awayThese are a direct replacement for your existing tank and include a specific solar coil right at the bottom of the tank as well as 50mm of insulation as standard. A secondary coil is included in order to allow heating from another source such as a gas boiler or pellet stove. Also included is the option to install an immersion heater.

This means that there is no change in the hot water pressure which is dependent upon the location of the cold water tank.

Tank sizes range from 123 litres (£340.43 + VAT) to 320 litres (£706.38 + VAT). We will discuss your hot water requirements in order to correctly size the tank.

Note :- VAT rate will be 5% on installations or 17.5% for supply only.

Vented Thermal Store Tanks

A Thermal Store TankA thermal store (also known as a heat store) is a reservoir of water that is heated up by the solar panel (and other reserve heat source such as a traditional gas boiler, pellet boiler or immersion heater), and is a bit like a battery for heat. They look very much like the standard hot water tanks above with heating coils for solar, secondary source and immersion heater however there is a difference that allows the hot water to be delivered at mains pressure. This is acheived by passing mains cold water through a high efficiency heat exchanger at the top of the tank such that the water coming out is at the same temperature as the water in the store but still at mains pressure - no need for a pump for your power shower as well as faster filling baths. The result of this is that the water in the tank does not actually go anywhere it just keeps getting heated up and cooled down.

Tank sizes range from 172 litres (£621.28 + VAT) to 320 litres (£978.72 + VAT). We will discuss your hot water requirements in order to correctly size the tank.

Note :- VAT rate will be 5% on installations or 17.5% for supply only.
