  • Energy crunch for UK power in seven years

  • Steve Holliday, chief executive of National Grid told the Times newspaper that Britain could face regular blackouts within seven years if the Government does not intervene to prevent an energy gap that will be created by future power station closures. The warning came after Ofgem, the energy industry regulator, said it was to consider fresh incentives to encourage the development of renewable energy schemes in Britain.
Worried about planning Permission?

Residential - From the 6th April 2008 homeowners will be able to install Solar Panels on their property without the need for planning permission as long as the following is adhered to:-

1) Roof mounted panels must not protude more than 200mm from the roof slope
2) Freestanding panels must not exceed 4 meters above ground level

See here for more details.

Commercial - In most cases this is yes however, a phone call to your local planning department will confirm the exact requirements. We can provide this as a service if required.

Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines.

Sky Flair are approved resellers of Leading Edge turbines and offer the full range of turbines on a supply only or supply/install/maintain basis.

Leading Edge aim to offer turbines which are:

  • more powerful hence offering an excellent energy harvest over a year
  • more reliable giving a reduction in maintenance visits
  • better looking providing attractive modern designs with low impact
  • and great value giving lowest cost per unit generated over competitors

They offer a comprehensive product guarantee lasting 2 years troughout the product range (including masts and accessories) and the turbines are designed for a 20 year lifespan.

All turbines are designed and manufactured in the UK.

All Leading Edge Turbines are on the MCS Transtiion List whilst they attain full accreditation. Whilst on the transition list any MCS accredited inctallation is elegible for the Clean Energy Cashback scheme (also referred to ar a feed-in tariff or FIT). See full details of the transition arrangements here.

Predicted Energy Production: The instantaneous power curve and energy production estimates shown here are based upon ideal operating conditions. Every turbine installation is unique and the energy production may deviate from figures listed here due to many factors such as turbulence and wind shadowing. Particular sites for small wind turbine installations should be evaluated on their merits. If in doubt, seek the advice of an expert. These specifications are for use as an indicator only as actual performance may vary due to local environmental considerations.
